This $1000.00 Scholarship is offered annually to deserving students 
	who are studying to enter the music profession on a full-time basis, 
	i.e. Performer, Teacher, Director, etc.

This Scholarship applies to the Jazz or Classical fields of music only.


	ELIGIBILITY :  
		1) Students who have previously received scholarships through the 
		Young Sounds of Arizona, Inc. musical program sponsored by 
		Professional Musicians of Arizona, AFM Local 586

		OR

		2) Any student outside the Young Sounds program who meets the
		requirements. All applicants will be considered and evaluated by 
		the Professional Musicians of Arizona Selection Board.


	REQUIREMENTS:
		1) All applicants shall have successfully completed at least    
		Freshman Level studies on a 4-year music degree program.

		2) All applicants shall submit a narrative report on their studies 
		to date, their reactions and plans for their future studies.

		3) A demonstration of their performing capabilities may be 
		required at the discretion of the Selection Board.  


	SELECTION BOARD: This Board shall be comprised of professional musicians, 
	and chaired by the Director of Young Sounds of Arizona, Inc., Barbara Catlin.
