
Vince Wedge is a proud product of an Arizona music education. Having played in groups of Eugene Hanson and Frank Dubuy at Coronado High School, Young Sounds of Arizona directed by Barry Black, Grant Wolf and Donald Bothwell’s Mesa Community College bands, and at Northern Arizona University with Dr. Donald Wolf, Pat Curry, and Ralston Pitts. Mr. Wedge has served as Vice President for Jazz Activities for the Arizona Band and Orchestra Association (ABODA), President of the Arizona Association for Jazz Education, and currently serves as Governor for the North Central Region. He is an active mentor teacher, adjudicator, and clinician--especially for jazz events.
As a professional trombonist he has played with many famous and not so famous musicians including: Jerry Riopelle, Henry Mancini, Carol Channing, Steve Allen, Flagstaff Symphony, Flagstaff Festival of the Arts Orchestra, Dennis Rowland, Bobby Caldwell, and many more.
Vince is currently the band director at Red Mountain High School, a position he has held for eleven years. He is the father of three amazing offspring: Erika (19), Betsy (23), and Andy (26) who all played in his school bands.
